The city of monuments wakes at dawn, and on New York Avenue, the old bus terminal stands elegantly with its art deco ebullience. For over a century, the landmark was the gateway to the city. During war times, the line to catch a bus would wrap around three sides of the block.

In the image, a sleepy citizen walks his dog before beginning his work day.
