In the District, we have a robust community of Salvadorans that came escaping from the civil wars in the 80-90s. These Washingtonians are among those who wake up the earliest and work the hardest. In this postcard, a mother walks her daughter to school in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood, or as the locals call it, La Monplesa.
