Located on Embassy Row on Massachusetts Avenue, the Islamic Center of Washington DC is an emblematic mosque, library and cultural center inaugurated in 1957. During that period, the Islamic Center became an important link between DC and the Muslim world. It also emerged as a tourist attraction itself, appearing in tourist brochures a mosque built by an assembly of Muslim nations.
