I have a soft spot for the Heurich House Museum in Dupont Circle. Built in the 1890s by German immigrant and brewer Christian Heurich, it sits on New Hampshire Avenue like a castle that wandered away from the Rhine. Heurich ran DC's longest-operating brewery from here — his old brewery site is now the Kennedy Center, which gives you a sense of the scale of the man. He lived to 102. Today the museum is one of the most community-centered cultural institutions in the city.

I wanted this print to feel the way the house feels when you walk past it at night — quiet, glowing, a little mysterious. The kind of building that makes you slow down on your bike and look up.
