Built as a publicity stunt, Curtis Brothers Furniture constructed the biggest chair in the world in 1959. The Big Chair in Anacostia has been a neighborhood landmark ever since. Underneath its towering legs, parades congregate - like MLK Parade and Peace Walk - and local musicians and residents alike take photos.
